Description and APK

Here is a short product showcase for the game demo I have prepared:

The demo for PC and Android can be downloaded here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9MKwoRKXWQwRWhpbXdCcFlOUDQ/view?usp=sharing

Please note that the Android version currently required a bluetooth gamepad, as touch controls are not yet implemented (however they are on the way).

Health has been reduced to 5 in order to increase difficulty and make player care about their actions. Cans have also been added to give the player a collectible. Prizes will be awarded for collecting every can in a particular stage.

Player's attack has to be timed just right to be effective. Attack has a very slight delay and halt's the player's momentum while planted on the ground.

Spike traps littered in a fair manner to add just enough challenge while avoiding the falling eggs and collecting cans.

Blue Roosters are smarter than Red Roosters and will jump over pits.

Particular can may be tough to get with more obstacles.

Home sign leads the wolf to the pig's house and signifies end of level.

Robotic cat monsters rotate around platforms. Player may avoid them by ducking or sliding under them.

More spike traps to slow player down and force them to better adapt to the controls.

Spike traps placed in a cruel manner to force player to master timing in order to collect every can.

A Lot of Progress

There has been a great deal of progress since my last post, so here goes nothing.

First and foremost is a vaguely playable build ready. This shows off very basic gameplay, without powerups available nor bosses to face. There are currently 3 levels.

I have added a few more enemy types, and even allowed for limited customization within the editor, in case the level design calls for something specific. For instance, the ducklings can throw eggs in different directions, with different magnitudes, to make their simple design more versatile.

Next, there's a new mini quest in the game for completionists: Recycling! The pigs are not only jerks who industrialized Woofie's habitat, they're also leaving beer cans and bottles everywhere. This can be used to Woofie's advantage however, as the money earned through recycling these cans and bottles can be used to purchase special powerups to help our hero take down these pigs.

A few characters

As I had noted earlier, I have been pumping out at least one new character everyday. Here are a few barnyard baddies to assist the Pigs in keeping the Woods Woof free.

Militarized Ducky:

Kid Dynamite:

Jack (A can probably think of a better name later):

There are more on the way. Figuring out attack patterns for these guys is the next step, although I have some in mind for most of them.

A Few Character Actions

I've been mostly pumping out character after character in order to fill a trial stage so I can actually develop the gameplay, however I have at least put some minimal effort into the playable character.

Walking:

Inhaling:

Exhaling:

Attacking (w/ Hammer):

More coming soon. I hope to have all of the basic Woof actions finished by the end of the week.

First post!

This blog will be dedicated to my new game in development, Good Bad Woof. On this blog I will be posting character art, level design previews, and occasionally gameplay videos and demos.
